Girly lunch at The Phene

23 Apr

Off for holiday to Cinque Terre and Florence tomorrow. Really looking forward to lots of walking, beautiful sights, and eating lots of scrumptious food. Will be back next Fri. Get ready to be bombarded by holiday eats!

– Black sesame & sweet potato toast with honey (I’m getting close to finishing this loaf!)
– Fruit salad: strawberries, kiwi, orange, banana

I could say lots about doing a girly lunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon, but I was too busy eating. The Phene is a nice little bar/restaurant/deli tucked away on a quiet street in Chelsea. Service is pleasant and attentive, and the food quite decent. Was very pleased to see the salmon hadn’t been overly cooked, and was moist and juicy. They also do a decent Pimm’s.

– Pimm’s
– Mezze platter: pita, hummus, tzatziki, olives, felafel, stuffed peppers
– Roast salmon Caesar salad
– Tomato, mozzarella & basil pesto salad

The plan was to have dessert at Chelsea Physic Garden, but the place is closed on Saturdays, so we ended up at Chelsea Farmers’ market where a luscious chocolate eclair called my name. I also had a strawberries & cream cookie (not pictured) while walking home.

Dessert (part 2)

It was a hot day. I was parched. So I had to slake my thirst with some coconut water…and macarons.
