Dim sum, 13 Assassins and a Louisiana boil

The close of another nice weekend. Why are they so short? In other news, 13 Assassins is a bloody good movie. Literally. Go watch it.

Early lunch

Way too many dishes to list, but we had the usual staples which involved lots of prawn and pork. We were good this time and ordered just enough food to keep us happy, but not too much to send us into food coma.

When a Chinese dessert craving hits, I head to Golden Gate. I love looking at the cakes in the window. They’re just so…decorated. D had a soya beancurd, while J had a massive mango shaved ice dessert with QQ balls and pearl (I helped her with some of it) and I had a herbal jelly.

Had an invitation to friends’ place for their version of a Louisiana boil. It was a rich, hearty seafood stew of mussels, clams, corn, massive prawns and chorizo, and eaten with pasta and garlic broccoli. Oh, so good. S, when can I come back again? 🙂

    That’s such a great idea for a massive feed – a crab/prawn boil!

      It’s such a great dish, and my friend said it’s quite easy to make. I think she said it’s butter, garlic, olive oil, creole seasoning and paprika.
