Dinner at Sushi of Shiori (yay!)

19 May

I’ve been waiting for this day for a while. It seems so much harder to get a table at Shiori, as each time I’ve called, I’ve never managed to get a spot. Thankfully, my friend CK organised dinner there, and I finally got to eat there for the first time this year. Happiness.

Breakfast

– River Cottage vanilla yogurt, Dorset Cereals Really Nutty muesli and a banana
– Vita Coco coconut water

Lunch

– Pitta with hummus
– Chicken kebab with salad

Han
Kentish Town Road, opposite Nando’s

Tea-time

A Braeburn apple

Dinner

– Whelk with liver
– Miso soup, not pictured
– Ikka (squid) somen with aubergine
– Sashimi plate: bamboo clam, sea urchin & prawn, otoro, salmon, horse mackerel
– Nigiri plate: chutoro, seabass, yellowtail, crab, unagi, scallop with truffle (ah! the best piece)
– Wagyu nigiri with ponzu
– Cherry blossom sorbet

Shiori never disappoints. It’s without a doubt my favourite sushi restaurant in London, and such a treat to look forward to. At £40 for the omakase menu (which is what we had), it’s really quite good value for money. If you haven’t been, book a spot right now!
