Visiting friends and dinner at Wahaca

22 May

It’s always good to catch up with friends you haven’t seen in a while.

Breakfast

– Rye & currant toast with vanilla chestnut spread
– King strawberries, blueberries & raspberries

Before lunch

It was about 1.30pm and I was a little hungry. Fruit bowl from the Camden concession at Victoria station.

Lunch

Visited friends in Beckenham, and they laid on a wonderful platter of nibblies. I gorged on bread, cheese, crackers, the most delicious homemade pate that had port-soaked raisins (second picture), carrot sticks, cucumber, olives with an array of dips. No need to visit the farmers’ market!

Dinner

– To drink: agua fresca – delicious hisbiscus drink
– Starters: tortilla chips with frijoles and guacamole
– Mains: Fish a la pimienta – Grilled mullet with a melting onion, black pepper, fresh lime and pumpkin seed sauce, served with green rice and salad
– Dessert: Churros & chocolate

It may not be authentic Mexican food, but I always enjoy a visit to Wahaca. Unfortunately I always forget what I’ve eaten, and end up ordering the same thing. Oh wells.
