Wonderful weekend: Cloudy Bay Shack & Modern Pantry

31 Jul

Lying under a tree and soaking up the sun is such a simple pleasure.

Summer has finally made an appearance! So glad I was able to get some sun and colour to my skin. Oh, and I could finally wear some of my summer dresses. May this beautiful weather last!

Saturday

Breakfast

– Soya & linseed toast with unsweetened chestnut puree & Manuka honey
– Rainier cherries & blueberries

Lunch

We did a little picnic at Parsons Green and enjoyed the sun. It was perfect – good food, wine and company. J, I’m so loving your rabbit picnic mat – I want one too!

– Heritage tomatoes & goat’s cheese
– Seabass with pak choy
– Glass of Cloudy Bay Te Koko

Dinner

Nut loaf and roasted veg at R’s house for poker night

Sunday

Brunch

What a lovely place Modern Pantry is! It was of course helped along by the marvellous weather and lovely waiters. This is what fusion food should taste like. I am totally in love with the salad.

– Bocconcini, watercress, watermelon, fig, caramellised red onion, toffee sauce
– Saffron-infused half poussin with sea aster,  lentils
– To drink: fresh orange juice, green & jasmine tea

The Modern Pantry

Clerkenwell

Dinner

Watching My Neighbours The Yamadas (such a cute little movie) at the Barbican in the afternoon made me crave Japanese food, so I got a brown rice chirashi don from Japan Centre and ate it at home.

After dinner

– Rice cake with red bean paste covered with black sesame seeds, Mimamoto Kitchoan
– 1 Braeburn apple, nectarine & blueberries
