Fish for lunch, fish for dinner

26 May

Out till late every night this week, and on school nights too. This is very unusual!

Breakfast

Southern Alps slow apple, pear and orange muesli with Yeo Valley natural yogurt, blueberries & strawberries. I know I’m supposed to soak the muesli, but I was too hungry to wait.

Lunch

– Starter: whitebait with pitta
– Main: Grilled sea bass (at least that’s what the menu said, but it didn’t taste like bass)
– To finish: mint tea and a piece of Turkish Delight

Today was such a lovely day, so we wandered down Regent’s Park Road and randomly walked into this Greek restaurant. At £9.75 for a 2 course lunch, it’s good value and tasty food. I liked that they gave olives, baby radish & carrots to start, and Turkish Delight and a choice of tea or coffee to finish.

Dinner

– Pan-fried salmon
– Roasted broccoli & carrots
– Spaghetti with garlic & pinenuts
– Dessert: strawberries, blueberries and mango eaten with M&S heather honey & ginger lakemead yogurt*

Had a last minute invitation to dinner at a friend’s place. She cooked, and I provided dessert. Home cooked food tastes even better when it’s made for you. 🙂

* M&S calls it a yogurt, but it’s so rich and creamy, it tastes more like a pudding. The first ingredient on the list – whipping cream. So much for trying to have a healthy dessert! Very delicious though – I love the ginger pieces in it.
